On Tuesday evening in Abuja, Buhari gave a speech at the regimental dinner held in his honor.

The president apologized for his tardiness and said that he had been under time constraints to attend the inauguration ceremonies as well as fulfill his official duties.

“I really apologize for keeping you waiting for at least 30 minutes. Actually, the strain is too much for me to handle, and I’m eagerly anticipating the upcoming six days, Buhari stated.

Buhari praised the military’s efforts in the fight against terrorism, banditry, and oil theft but insisted that they should not stop until insecurity is eradicated.

He claimed that the significance of the regimental supper lies in the fact that it affords him yet another chance to think favorably of the history, present, and future of the armed services.

Buhari added, “Please let me to express my gratitude to our troops for their dedication, hard work, loyalty, and selfless service to our dear nation.
“I am completely aware of all your devotion and sacrifices in addressing the plethora of security issues and your contributions to our nation’s successful elections.

“However, until the problem of insecurity is resolved, much more is still expected of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

Therefore, in the face of the nation’s security concerns, the Nigerian military and other security services must always maintain their resolve.

The final sacrifice of our fallen heroes will never be in vain, and the almighty God continues to grant them eternal rest. “Our administration before winding down will never relent to broaden the support of the military to enable them to successfully carry out their constitutional tasks.
