Chukwuka Ekweani, also known as CKay, a Nigerian musician, has credited Tekno and Runtown’s music with paving the way for afrobeat music’s global popularity.
On Friday, June 16, 2023, he tweeted this, reiterating that the Nigerian music business will one day hold a roundtable to discuss the contribution of Tekno and Runtown to the development of Afrobeats.
As he put it, “One day, we’re going to sit down and talk about how Tekno and Runtown’s music paved the way for songs like Love Nwantiti, Emiliana, Ku Lo Sa & Calm Down.”
