The date of the next pre-hearing session for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president, who filed a case challenging Bola Ahmed Tinubu on election reasons has been changed to May 18, 2023.
Atiku’s petition, like that of Peter Obi and the Labour Party, was postponed at the request of the attorneys involved in the case so that they could organize their affairs on a number of petition-related matters.
His principal attorney, Chief Chris Uche SAN, told the court that all of the attorneys had unanimously decided to return on Thursday in order to give their teams time to organize the materials that would be presented during the petition hearing.
Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani moved the case to May 18 after receiving no objection from Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN, who appeared for Tinubu, Charles Edosomwen SAN, who represented the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Abubakar Mahmoud, who represented the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
