During his Sunday performance at the Afronation carnival in Detroit, United States, popular artist David Adeleke, better known by his stage as Davido, halted to pay respects to Mrs. Jane Dolapo Balogun, the mother of his colleague Wizkid, who passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023
Davido emphasized that he had lost a great deal of loved ones, including his mother, Mrs. Veronica Adekunle, who passed away many years ago, and that he was no stranger to pain.
But before she died, he claimed Wizkid made his mother proud of his musical accomplishments.
Davido stated, “I have personally lost so many people in my life,” to the assembled gathering. In addition, I would want to offer my brother Ayo Balogun Wizkid my sympathies. May the soul of his mother rest in peace.
“I lost my mother myself years ago. But I know whatever he [Wizkid] has done, he has made his mother proud.”
