As the first African musician to perform at the Professional Footballers’ Association Awards in England on Tuesday night, popular Nigerian singer David Adeleke, or Davido, made history.
The ‘Unavailable’ crooner’s performance served as a prelude to the announcement of the night’s top prizes at Manchester’s Lowry Theatre.
On Wednesday, he celebrated his historic achievement on Twitter.
“Thank you @PFA for the opportunity to not only attend such a prestigious event but to perform as well,” he added in the message.
Sports and music have always been a terrific combination, and we demonstrated that last night! Dubai @cocacolaarena is the next stop.
Davido performed during the FIFA World Cup closing ceremony in Qatar last year, according to the report.
