During a recent appearance on TVC’s Wake Up Nigeria show, Olakira made the discovery.
After his successful song “Maserati” was released, Olakira was questioned about why he “disappeared” for over three years. He responded, “I had my own troubles as well. I eventually experienced depression. At times, I was unable to concentrate.
Years ago, I performed gospel music. I also had some prior experience with women. I was fired from the church because I had issues with four or five other choristers when I was in the choir.
“And it was really busy when I first entered the secular world. A lot of it. Actually, I took a short trip to decompress. I attended counseling. It is so distracting that I need to leave that area.
“I was raised by a single mother. So, I feel more comfortable around ladies than guys.”
