Olamide Adedeji, better known by his stage name Olamide, is a Nigerian rapper and musician who has opened a record company. The YBNL boss said that he founded a record label in order to invest his “becoming too much” money in the careers of up-and-coming artists.
He revealed this in an interview with Ebro Darden of Apple Music.
“I just started to accumulate money, and the money was getting to be too much for me,” he claimed. Yo, I don’t know what I’m going to do with all this cash, so I need to sign more players. You know, let me spend money on people.
“It’s just like my own little way of supporting the neighborhood.”
Two of the most popular afrobeats musicians in the nation today belong to Olamide’s YBNL Nation: Fireboy DML and Asake.
The record company has previously signed Adekunle Gold, Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun, Young Jonn, and Pheelz.
