Faleye Olaleye, the state’s commissioner of police, paraded the suspects at the command center in the state capital of Abakaliki and described how his men had detained 15 people, including a herbalist who makes charms for the assailants in Ebonyi
Some of the gunmen are also alleged to have broken into areas of Abakaliki and shot intermittently to enforce the pro-Biafra agitators’ sit-at-home order.
Even with their herbalist, fifteen of them were captured. The board, the red clothing they were wearing that day, and the paraphernalia, which also includes the ladies, are all visible.
When we conducted the sting operation and captured them, they were preparing for another attack, according to the Commissioner of Police.
Gunmen reportedly scattered residents, primarily traders, across the Ishieke and Ukwuachi areas of Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State, on Tuesday, according to Channels Television.
People fled the area in fear as the gunmen spread terror by implementing a sit-at-home order issued by the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
