Next week, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will launch their defense in the petition contesting the results of the presidential election on February 25.
Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 6,984,520 votes, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), who received 6,101,533 votes, were defeated by Tinubu, who received 8,794,726 votes.
Obi, Atiku, and their parties then submitted petitions to the tribunal.
After calling one witness on Wednesday, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) also submitted a petition and ended its case.
Obi and the LP called 13 witnesses before wrapping up their case on Friday, whilst Atiku and the PDP called 27 witnesses in total.
At the most recent tribunal session, attorneys for both parties informed the court that they had decided it would be preferable to postpone further hearing until after the Muslim holiday rather than beginning defense on June 31 as specified in the pre-hearing schedule.
Wole Olanipekun, President Tinubu’s counsel, stated, “My lords, we all took into consideration several important issues, notably the fact that some of us will want to go to celebrate with our families and loved ones.
Additionally, there will probably be a two-day public holiday the following week (this week). Therefore, we shall beg your lordships to postpone the matter until after the Sallah holiday.

The motion was granted by the five-judge panel, which was presided over by Justice Harunna Tsammani, and the hearing was continued on July 3.
It is anticipated that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would launch its defense first.
