Divine Ikubor, better known by her stage name Rema, is a Nigerian musician who has commented about how many relationships nowadays are based on money.
The musician made this comment when appearing as a guest on the most recent i-D Meets program.
Money is Not a Source of Income is one of Rema’s favorite songs from his debut album “Rave & Roses” since it was inspired by his own life.
Rema said, “My favorite lyric in my album [is] ‘Love is not a source of income’. It came from my actual experience. A lot of relationships in our new generation are just really all about the gains.”
He added, “It’s painful that I can’t really define love. You’ve to live your own version. I have not lived my version. I’m waiting for it though.”
