Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. recently introduced its fifth generation (5G) of Galaxy foldables—the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5—to the Nigerian market, promising to revolutionize the mobile device industry through significant research and development (R&D).
Speaking at the introduction of foldable devices, Samsung Electronics’ President/Head of Mobile eXperience Business, TM Roh, noted that more and more customers are choosing OEMs due to the high caliber of their products.

The company added that the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 were both carefully designed to meet durability standards.
For a more stable display, the primary screen has a shock-dispersion layer and a revised back. The Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 offer the protection that customers demand, along with IPX8 support, Armor Aluminium frames, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus2 applied to both the Flex Window and rear cover. Flex Hinge further improves the protection.
A dual rail construction is a characteristic of this novel integrated hinge module that cushions exterior impacts.
According to Samsung, the business has continued to show progress toward its environmental vision and speed up initiatives that support its objectives, such as achieving net zero carbon emissions for the Device eXperience Division by the end of 2030.
Roh claims that the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Fold5 use more recycled materials than its previous iterations, including post-consumer recycled polymers made from used fishing nets, water barrels, and PET bottles, as well as pre- and post-consumer recycled glass and aluminum. Even the paper used to make the packing box for their products is created entirely from recycled resources.
Additionally, the lifetime of these advances has been carefully considered in their design. Four generations of OS updates and five years of security updates are included with each device, extending the product lifespan.
“The Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 will be available for pre-order in select markets from July 26th through August 10th, with general availability starting August 11,” added Roh.
