MohBad claimed to have been attacked by guys connected to Marlian Music, the record company run by Naira Marley, in several videos he released before his untimely demise.
After complications arose around the late Naira Marley’s demand for a change, MohBad entered into a record deal with her label in 2019 and left in 2022.
The following are seven lessons to be learned from Naira Marley’s interview with Omokri, which was published on September 27.
(1) Naira Marley continued to claim his innocence over the events that resulted in MohBad’s demise. He claimed that he had been visiting family overseas since August 31 and hadn’t yet arrived home.
(2) The head of Marlian Music also addressed a now-viral video in which MohBad asked for Marlian Music to be held accountable in the event that he died.
Naira Marley claimed that the deceased person made the video out of paranoia when talking about the tape. He claimed that shortly after certain Marlian Music label affiliates were detained by agents of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, MohBad produced the tape.
He claimed to have contacted MohBad after arriving in Nigeria, and the dead expressed regret for having mentioned his name and the name of the record label.
“I ran into him when I came back, and he apologized and said he didn’t understand. I have recordings of our conversations, Naira Marley said.
(3) MohBad was allegedly suicidal, according to Naira Marley. After speaking with MohBad’s lover, who confirmed the singer was suicidal, he related their conversation. His family was the main source of his problems, according to Naira Marley.
When his girlfriend called to inform me that he had locked himself in the bathroom and tried to kill himself, I was in America.
(4) Naira Marley also discussed MohBad’s battles with mental illness, pointing out that the deceased’s parents were aware of it.
“He desired to kill himself once more. I attempted to find out what was wrong with him so I could help because I had to watch out for him, but MohBad claimed only his parents knew what was wrong with him.
“I talked to the parents, and they said they noticed he’s not right, but they need to take him someplace for treatment,”
In addition, Naira Marley denied hitting Mohbad. The performer also affirmed their friendship. Samson Eletu, commonly known as Sam Larry, was implicated in MohBad’s demise.
(6) Regarding rumors that he earns royalties from MohBad’s albums, Naira Marley refuted this assertion by claiming that he is not compensated for any music that is released after the late artist left his label in 2022.
(7) Naira Marley also addressed the allegations that he is to blame for DJ Splash’s condition. The crooner of “Soapy” claims that this is a falsehood.
DJ Splash was never a Marlian Music artist. He is not my DJ, and the moniker came from a photo he shot of us.
He was not at my place when what happened to him occurred. Where this is all coming from is beyond me. All of them are lies.
